Pirates Cove... Or that one time we decided last minute to drive to Vegas

Ben had stayed at Pirate's Cove once before with Vivint, so when a last minute cancelation extended their booking and everyone's families where invited to join them after their regional retreat, he really wanted us to come. It only meant driving 10 more hours with 5 kids (include a nursing 5 month old) , and I'd already driven 12. It was only a few more days of school to miss and we'd already spent a week in Boise, skipping. I wasn't sure if it would be worth it.

Nine year old McKye, who had been my little co-captian, navigator and all around emotional support on the trip thus far had been weighing out the pros and cons, trying to decide if we dare press our luck on a trip that so far had been so, so good. We decided to take the risk.

The first night we got there despite being so tired of driving, and even though it was so late, we put on swim suits and went to explore and swim. McKye after a few times down the waterslide looked at me with total joy and said, "Mom, what if we didn't come?!?"

We were all glad we did.

Ben was right when he said it's a hard to explain. And he was right.
So we took a whack load of pictures instead.
Yay for impromptu family vacations.

On the way home I started pretending I was the kids all grown up, reminiscing:
Hey! Remember that time when mom drove all the way to Vegas?
Oh ya in our massive van.
With 5 kids
And wasn't Eliza still like just a baby?
Wasn't it kinda last minute, like dad was down there and told her we should come?
And we stayed at that awesome pirate place.
Oh ya that was awesome.
Wow Mom is so awesome. As if she did that.
And she jumped off the plank too. Ya she's pretty cool huh.

Ya I am . I can even do the floss:)
